Dear Friend of the Blind,
You can help, Christian Record Services, Inc. (CRS) and National Camps for Blind Children/Adults provide FREE to the visually impaired: College Scholarships, a lending library of wholesome and inspirational reading; Bibles, books, magazines in Braille, large print and cassette that change and save the lives of thousands of kids and adults. Giving a gift TODAY ensures that blind kids and adults like Trevor(9), Ken(11) and Ella (74) will enjoy camps like GA and TN Blind Bikers, Sea(Surfing), Computer, Music, Winter(Snow Mobiling, Sliding, Skiing & Tubing), Horsemanship, Healthful and Independent living and exciting activities like archery, water skiing, tubing, hot air balloons riding, putt-putt golf, bowling, and some limited driving opportunities. You can help the blind reach their full potential, while helping the blind to see Jesus. Please consider even doubling your gift, Today, so visually impaired athletes like Craig Miller(46), Marye McKenney(48) and Damien Walker(21) can enjoy the freedom of a 75 mile tandem bike ride on the Silver Comet Trial and have their own Bible to read.
Ask your family, church members, friends, business friends and neighbors to give to provide a day or week of camp or a cassette or Braille Bible and receive one Marye McKenney¡¯s special Collector¡¯s Edition calendars. Thank you for partnering with CRS to raise the hundreds of thousands needed to fund special projects and meet the needs of the visually impaired. Lets raise more than $2,000,000.00 before the June, GA Blind Biker 2005, so we can ¡°Give the Blind a Chance¡± this Year.
* Bibles for the Blind - The initial Goal of $1,000,000 the need for $664,742 remains. (1)Braille Bible $595, (1)cassette Bible $50, (1)Giant Print Bible $39.
* Encounter, an audio magazine, provides teens and adults with in-depth Bible study, a sermon-of-the-month, and answers to Bible questions. It cost $144,000 per year for this monthly ($31 each) magazine and $139,913 is still needed to provide thousands with hope.
* Talking Books, Authors include such notables as James Dobson, Max Lucado, and Janette Oke. Reader demand far exceeds supply. A great many additional books have been narrated and "mastered." But our eager blind listeners must wait until funding allows us to duplicate them and put them into their hands. For instance it cost $12,040 =14 books (56 cassettes), 1 book (4 cassettes)= $860, partial books (1 cassette)=$215.
* 5-Color Press - Demand for printed material for the visually impaired is increasing by 10 to 35% each year. Our printing press prints only two colors at a time. The cost of this wonderful gift is $610,000 and the $598,639 that remains will help meet the growing demand for print. Over 60,000 visually impaired readers of our large-print magazines and books will thank you!
* Computer-to-Plate System - New technology has by passed or combined three of the five steps required by our old equipment into two steps saving large $$ dollars. A gift (or gifts) totaling $184,395 will save CRS nearly $300,000 and (FULLY FUNDED, THANK YOU) will allow us to serve thousands more blind persons for no additional cost!
* Library Services - Cassette, Braille & Large Print Books, Magazines, and Bibles, gifts of $45 to $595, endowments of $20,000 or more.
* Camp Sponsorship - Gifts of $64/day or $448/week summer or $107/day or $750/week winter for one person, $50,000 per camp, endowments of $1,000,000 or more will help blind kids and adults discover the love of Jesus and a chance to reach their full potential. Sending your gift today provides hope through important services and needed equipment to change and save the lives of blind kids and adults.
Gratefully,
Danny J. Wells
